[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Unfortunately, acne is something that a lot of people suffer from – and it can be frustrating! It is likely that if you have suffered from acne for many years, you have tried endless acne products to try and relieve inflammation and clear up your skin, but not every ‘spot fighting product’ will actually help your skin. There are many off the shelf products out there, including acne face wash and face wash for blackheads, cleansers for acne and creams; but you can’t trust all products that tell you they clear up blemishes. Read on to find out more about the key ingredients to look out for.
What are the causes of acne?
Blemishes of any kind, no matter the severity or location on your body, are primarily caused by your pores becoming blocked. The cause of this could be oily skin, dirt, or even just dead skin cells – and although there are steps you can take in your daily routine and acne products which will help you to achieve the best skincare for acne prone skin, it is not always preventable.
Acne is much more severe than an occasional spot, it means you are repeatedly affected by severe breakouts which can be unpleasant and painful. It is certainly not an uncommon skin condition, but it can be damaging to your self esteem and therefore requires the best acne treatment and products to minimise the appearance of inflammation and redness.
What ingredients should you look out for?
The main ingredient for fighting blemishes is Salicylic Acid, as it works to unblock pores and reduce the appearance of spots and blackheads. Not only do products which contain this ingredient work to reduce existing blemishes, but they will also help to prevent new ones forming. However, a lot of acne products also contain ingredients which can cause dry skin, which is why applying moisturiser daily is still important.
Here at LA Skincare, our ‘Squeaky Clean’ acne face wash cleanser contains Salicylic Acid, and is therefore the best cleanser for acne prone skin. Get in contact with us on 0114 287 5400 for more information on how our products could benefit you.
What other steps can you take?
There are simple measures that can be taken in your daily routine to help you with acne, including the use of certain products. You should be gentle when cleaning your face, using antibacterial face wash if possible to avoid irritating your skin. Exfoliating your face is also an important step, but this shouldn’t be overdone – we recommend 1-2 times a week.
Having an acne treatment will also help, and there are many facials for acne available including our ‘Blemish Free’ treatment.
Other than the obvious steps like cleaning your face regularly and letting your skin breath by not wearing heavy makeup etc. Products such as acne face wash and light weight water based moisturiser should help. The fact is, everyone’s skin is different and will therefore react to certain products differently, and something that has worked on someone else’s skin might not be as effective on yours!
